Last week, one of our Facebook followers sent us a tip regarding a suspicious U-Haul truck that was parked in the Tacoma area. We did some digging and determined that the U-Haul had been stolen from the Steilacoom area on Nov. 9. As we were about to approach the U-Haul, a van pulled up next to it. A passenger jumped out of the van and got into the U-Haul. When that suspect saw us, he fled on foot and we weren’t able to catch up to him. The other occupants in the van were detained and we learned that the van had been stolen from the Auburn area on Oct. 6. Charges against the driver of the stolen van were referred to the prosecutor’s office for review.
