In June<\/span>, our project team <\/span>joined festival enthusiasts to kick-off summer <\/span>at <\/span>the annual Meeker Days celebration. <\/span>The team set out to inform community members about a new bridge<\/span> that\u2019s being planned for this project<\/span> over the Puyallup River, only three miles from downtown Puyallup. <\/span>The more than 150 people who visited the booth <\/span>were welcoming and curious; they asked<\/span> lots of <\/span>questions about pedestrian access, construction impacts<\/span>, and offered<\/span> suggestions for improvement.<\/span> Many gave their thoughts and shared their excitement and approval of the project. Several visitors <\/span>even drove past the site of the new bridge on their way into Meeker Days, and had lots to say about how much <\/span>this work <\/span>is<\/span> needed<\/span>, specifically to reduce<\/span> the<\/span> idling time on River Road and Levee Road<\/span> that they were sitting in<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The new bridge, pictured above, connects 70th Avenue East with Canyon Road East, crossing over Levee Road and River Road and stretches across the Puyallup river.<\/p>\n

Our project team had an amazing time at this year\u2019s Meeker Days celebration, and we are looking forward to meeting more members from the community!
