The memorial at the County-City Building is designed to provide a fitting and publicly accessible place to honor their memory and valor.<\/p>\n<p>With the help of Councilmember Ladenburg and leadership from first responder agencies, the Facilities Management team set to work to find a great location and come up with an appropriate design.<\/p>\n<p>The advisory group ultimately selected a plaza configuration featuring natural stone plinths to be placed at the CCB\u2019s second floor entrance.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1838\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.piercecountywa.gov\/executive\/files\/2019\/07\/Memorial-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"669\" height=\"495\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.piercecountywa.gov\/executive\/files\/2019\/07\/Memorial-1.jpg 669w, https:\/\/blog.piercecountywa.gov\/executive\/files\/2019\/07\/Memorial-1-300x222.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Construction is on track to begin later this summer, and the County\u2019s Arts Commission is currently evaluating proposals for art to be placed in the center of plaza. We are optimistic the space will be completed (or close to it!) by the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Please have a look at the concept art below.
