I also included additional resources and details around several programs that were discussed. Stephen Flannigan<\/li>\n<li>Ms. Jennifer Snyder (Information and Referral\/Outreach Services Manager)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>From Pierce County:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Robert Sheetz, Veterans Programs Manager<\/li>\n<li>Larry Turk, Veterans Officer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Q&amp;A and additional information<\/h3>\n<p><strong>What programs do we have for transitioning active duty or veterans in Pierce County?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Answer:<\/strong> The ETS Sponsorship Program, established in partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Department of Defense (DoD), exists to sponsor service members through the transition process from military to civilian life. This is created by developing a personal relationship between the service member and a sponsor, by connecting the member and their family to the VA, community programs and local non-profits. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or are looking for a sponsor as you transition from Active Duty, please go to <a href=\"https:\/\/etssponsorship.com\/\">ETS Sponsorship Program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do we have a program in Lakewood that is similar to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/5thSFAB\">5<sup>th<\/sup> SFAB\u2019s Community Engagement Program<\/a> (which focuses on Parkland, Spanaway &amp; Midland)?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Answer<\/strong>: The Lakewood Community Connector contact is CPT Courtland Henderson for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/lancerbrigade\">2-2 SBCT \u201cLancer Brigade\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What supports are there if you are a survivor of a deceased veteran?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Call 253-966-5047 to get connected with resources for dealing with the death of a veteran.<\/li>\n<li>The JBLM Survivor Outreach Services Coordinator is available to support survivors (spouse or dependent children) of <u>retired<\/u> veterans regardless of branch. The survivor must hold or be eligible to hold a Department of Defense Identification Card. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/SOSWASTATE\">JBLM Survivor Outreach Services<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>If you are a homebound veteran, or you are a caregiver for a homebound veteran what supports are available?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Answer<\/strong>: PC Veterans Services now does home visits out of a mobile unit. Call 253-798-7449 or email <a href=\"mailto:veterans@piercecountywa.gov?subject=Veterans%20Mobile%20Service%20support\">veterans@piercecountywa.gov<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the best way to contact services and supports ON BASE?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>JBLM Lewis-Main Community Information Services: 253-967-7166<\/li>\n<li>JBLM McChord Field Community Information Services: 253-982-2695<\/li>\n<li>Community Resource Guide: <a href=\"https:\/\/crg.amedd.army.mil\/guides\/forscom\/jblm\/Pages\/azindex.aspx#indexf\">A-to-Z Index &#8211; Community Resource Guide (army.mil)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What is the plan for getting EV (electric vehicle) chargers on base?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Answer<\/strong>: While there is support for this, there is not a specific answer at this time.
