At 12:56 am, on Wednesday July 5th, our deputies responded to a call of a shooting with a person down in the street at the 1800 block of 187th St Ct E in Spanaway.
Deputies arrived on scene and found a male deceased from gunshot wounds in the street. When talking to the reporting parties they determined the possible suspect was still inside a house in the neighborhood.
Deputies surrounded the home and called for everyone to come outside.
After everyone was detained detectives were able to conduct interviews and check the scene for evidence.
Detectives were able to determine the occupants of the home were witnesses to the incident. Witnesses confirmed there was an altercation that occurred in the street prior to the shooting.
Forensic investigators also responded to document the scene and collect evidence.
The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office will be assisting detectives with trying to identify the deceased.
No arrests have been made at this time.
