At 02:19 am, on June 27th our graveyard deputy in the City of Edgewood located a vehicle that appeared to have an impaired driver on 20th St E.
The deputy saw the vehicle drifting over the center line by half the car width and it was traveling at 45-60 mph in a 25 mph zone.
Seeing this impairment our deputy attempts to pull over the vehicle, but the driver keeps going and eventually takes off.
This suspect led the deputy to an apartment complex where the suspect kept circling the neighborhood at speeds under 20mph.
The suspect stops two times and when the deputy challenges him to surrender he continued driving around the complex. The third time the suspect stops he takes off on foot. Our deputy is able to catch up to the suspect and uses his taser to help apprehend this suspect.
This suspect was treated by paramedics and then taken to the Puyallup Police precinct to be processed for DUI. The man was eventually booked into the Pierce County Jail for DUI, Felony Eluding and Obstruction.
Awesome work!
