Yesterday, the Pierce County Metro Dive Team assisted with recovering a vehicle from the White River in Sumner.
The car, a 2013 Acura ILX, was apparently racing another vehicle when it drove off the bridge at 142nd Ave E and Tacoma Ave. Sumner Police responded to the initial incident and then requested assistance with removing the vehicle from the river.
After the Dive Team hooked up the cables, the vehicle was hoisted 60 feet in the air and onto the bridge deck before being towed away.
