Over the Weekend 4-28-25 

# 1 Stolen Motorcycle Arrest 

On April 27th around 2:30am, deputies were proactively patrolling the area of Canyon Road and 115th St E in some parking lots when they located a stolen motorcycle with a rider about to leave.  The motorcycle had been stolen in a previous residential burglary back in December of 2024. The suspect had been convicted of previous felony crimes and was found with a loaded firearm in his backpack along with a bag of meth. The ignition was damaged, and deputies found the screwdriver in the suspect’s backpack that was being used to start the motorcycle. The 40-year-old male was arrested for possession of stolen property, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of the meth.   

# 2 Motorcycle Fatality and Arrest of Driver 

On April 26th around 9:00pm deputies were dispatched to a single motorcycle collision at 332nd St S and State Route 507 in Roy with a deceased passenger.  It was later learned the driver of the motorcycle had showed up to a party and offered to give rides to partygoers. He had no helmets for himself or his passengers, and he was intoxicated.  He was traveling at a high rate of speed with a female passenger when he wrecked out. The 21-year-old female died at the scene, and the 26-year-old male driver sustained minor injuries. He was arrested for vehicular homicide and DUI.  

# 3 Residential Burglary Arrest 

On April 25th around 5:45pm, a deputy was in the area of where a residential burglary had just occurred at the 11800 block of 224th Street East. The deputy spotted the vehicle pass him by on the road. He conducted a traffic stop on the suspect and the suspect was taken into custody. It was later learned the suspect had accessed a property completely marked with no trespassing signs in an attempt to steal tires off a vehicle. The 44 year old male was booked for felony residential burglary. 

# 4 14-Year-Old Arrested for Stealing Mom’s Car and Causing Collision 

On April 27th around 7:00pm, deputies responded to the 27600 block of 8th Ave E in Roy for a motor vehicle collision with the causing driver being 14 years old. It was later learned the 14-year-old male had stolen his mom’s rental car without permission so he could go see his girlfriend. The victim reported the suspect vehicle fled the scene but later returned to the collision after his mom told him to. The 14-year-old was arrested and booked into Remann Hall for felony motor vehicle theft.
