#1 Teen Burglary Leaves Vacant Key Peninsula Home with More Than $100,000 in Damages
On August 26, 2026, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Key Peninsula deputies were dispatched to a security check at a vacant home in the 2100 block of 191st Ave. SW. The home was reportedly for sale and had been reported as having suspicious activity. When deputies arrived, they located two 15-year-old males leaving the area who matched the description of the reported suspects. Both teens were detained while deputies investigated the extent of the damage and determined what had occurred inside the home. What deputies discovered was incredibly disturbing.
The home had sustained extensive damage, with the total loss estimated at more than $100,000. Both teens were arrested and booked into Remann Hall Juvenile Detention Center for Burglary in the First Degree and Malicious Mischief in the First Degree, both felonies. This investigation remains active.
#2 Two Stolen Motorcycles Recovered on Key Peninsula
On August 20, 2026, at approximately 3:00 p.m., a deputy located two stolen motorcycles on a property in the 13200 block of 99th Ave. NW. The property owner told deputies they had purchased the motorcycles from a seller but had only paid half of the agreed-upon amount. According to the property owner, the seller said the titles would be provided once the remaining balance was paid. The property owner also claimed they were unaware the motorcycles had been stolen. The investigation remains active. This case serves as an important reminder: Before purchasing a vehicle, motorcycle, or other high-value item, make sure the seller can provide proof of ownership and a valid title. If a deal seems questionable or the seller cannot provide documentation, it may be best to walk away.
#3 Deputies Recover Stolen Hot Tub
On August 22, 2026, deputies were investigating reported theft-related crimes at a property in the 7000 block of Cliff Ave. SW when they discovered something unexpected, a stolen hot tub!
Deputies also identified code enforcement violations at the property. A case was submitted to Code Enforcement regarding the violations, and deputies planned to return to the location as the investigation continued.
#4 Stolen Truck Recovered at Second Visit
On August 27, 2026, at approximately 7:30 a.m., deputies returned to the same property in the 7000 block of Cliff Ave. SW, this time accompanied by members of the Community Liaison Deputy Team and Code Enforcement. While at the property, deputies located a stolen pickup truck parked out front. The investigation remains active as deputies work to establish probable cause for an arrest. What started as one investigation has continued to uncover more questions, and more stolen property.
