#1 “Cheese and Rice!” – Wild Pursuit Ends with Arrest
Around 1:40 a.m. on September 8, a deputy spotted a vehicle struggling to stay in its lane on Mountain Hwy E. The driver nearly collided with another vehicle after swerving into oncoming traffic. With other drivers at risk, the deputy took action to stop the dangerous driver before someone was seriously hurt or killed. The pursuit traveled northbound on Mountain Hwy E and onto Pacific Ave S, where a deputy deployed stop sticks and flattened all four tires. The suspect vehicle continued northbound on Pacific Ave. S where it slowed to safe speeds due to the tires being disabled. Once speeds were safe, the deputy ended the pursuit using a PIT maneuver. The 41-year-old male suspect was driving on a suspended license in the 1st degree and told deputies he fled because he didn’t want to go back to jail. He will now be facing more serious felony crimes of eluding and assault with a vehicle.
#2 Carbon Monoxide Accident Leaves Two in Critical Condition
This incident is a terrible accident involving a carbon monoxide leak that left a man, a woman, and their dog in critical condition. Both were located inside their home near Gig Harbor. Gig Harbor Fire and Rescue were able to provide life-saving measures and transported them to a local hospital. After medical treatment, the dog was in stable condition.
