#1 Drowning at Tanawax Lake
The call came in on August 2nd at 4:55pm for a missing 5-year-old boy at Camp Lakeview in Graham. After 10–15 minutes, the child was found unresponsive in the water near the swimming area. Other swimmers brought him to shore, and bystanders and deputies did CPR until Fire arrived. He was transported to a local hospital, where we were informed he did not make it.
#2 Attempted Residential Burglary Arrest
On August 3rd around 8:30pm, a Lake Tapps homeowner reported an unfamiliar car was sitting in her driveway. As she began investigating who the person was, a male subject appeared on her back patio and attempted to enter her home while she was calling 911. She was able to shut and lock doors just in time before the suspect fled in his vehicle. The described vehicle was located nearby at a park. The 48-year-old male suspect was identified as the burglary suspect and was arrested for attempted residential burglary, attempted theft, driving while license is suspended, and a violation of not having an ignition interlock device inside his car.
#3 Carjacking Assault and Arrest
On August 2nd around 1:45am, a male reported he was giving an acquaintance a ride home when the acquaintance assaulted him, threatened him with a knife, and stole his vehicle. A few minutes later, the victim’s vehicle was found abandoned in the road, and the suspect was located by Puyallup Police on foot at 96th St. E and Fruitland. The 23-year-old male was arrested for the armed robbery and assault.
