#1 Collision with 9-Year-Old on Electric Motorcycle
On September 27th, around 6:00pm, Deputies and East Pierce Fire were dispatched to an injury collision involving a 9-year-old boy riding an electric dirt bike in the 21000 block of 112 ST E. Responding Deputies located the child thrown from the collision scene in a ditch approximately 10-15 feet away from the impact site. Emergency medical aid for serious injuries was applied to the 9-year-old, and he was rushed to a local hospital. The child had been riding a small electric motorcycle, which is not legal to operate on the roadway. He failed to stop at a stop sign and crossed in front of a minivan, which had no opportunity to avoid the collision. There are no charges for the driver who hit the child.
#2 Armed Robbery with Three Juveniles Arrested
On September 28th, around 6:00pm, deputies responded to the 19600 block of Mountain Highway E for an armed robbery. The employee reported that three subjects came into the gas station with ski masks and were armed with a gun. They began stealing alcohol and pointing the gun at her. They were last seen fleeing on foot towards the Copper Head apartments. Multiple other reporting parties provided information that led deputies to the gun that was used in the crime, which was tossed in the gravel. It was actually a BB gun with the orange tip removed. The three juvenile male subjects were found to be in one of the apartments and eventually came out to be arrested peacefully. Two 14-year-old males and one 15-year-old male were booked into Remann Hall for Robbery 1st degree charges.
#3 Stolen Truck Pursuit
On September 28th, around 11:00 p.m., deputies assisted the Orting Police with a stolen truck that was fleeing. Deputies got a good stick application, and the stolen truck wrecked off the road a short distance later at the 11500 block of State Route 162. The female driver fled on foot into a whole mess of sticker bushes with no shoes on. It was a prickly capture for the K9, but the 30-year-old female was finally taken into custody, where she was booked into the Pierce County Jail for DUI, eluding police, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and other outstanding warrants for theft.
