Yesterday, a judge sentenced Michael Beauchamp, 59, to life in prison (without parole) for murdering 41-year-old Ginger Gover in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Sept. 14, 2018, human remains were located at a construction site in the 14000 block of 94th Ave E in South Hill. The remains were discovered by construction workers as they were putting in a new roadway at the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Four days later, the Pierce County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office identified the remains as Ginger Gover, who had been missing since July 29, 2018. An autopsy revealed that Gover died from a single gunshot wound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our detectives worked extensively on this case through 2019, gathering evidence and locating and interviewing numerous witnesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On June 18, 2020, the Prosecutor\u2019s Office charged Beauchamp with Gover\u2019s murder. Beauchamp had been in custody since October 2018 when he was arrested for a Thurston County burglary and arson. Jurors agreed with prosecutors that Beauchamp killed Gover to prevent her from testifying against him in the burglary and arson case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last month, a jury convicted Beauchamp of aggravated murder in the first degree, murder in the second degree, assault in the first degree, and malicious mischief in the second degree.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
