3\/23\/24, 1:20pm A sergeant was driving through a gas station parking lot when he spotted a vehicle with a temporary tag. The sergeant ran the tag and learned that the driver had a felony warrant for his arrest. The sergeant detained the driver, who was under the supervision of the Department of Corrections (DOC). A DOC officer arrived and searched the vehicle, locating a firearm (with the serial number removed) under the driver\u2019s seat. The 41-year-old is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms. He was arrested and booked into jail for unlawful possession of a firearm in the second degree and altering\/removing identifying marks on a firearm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 3\/23\/24, 2:10pm Foothills Detachment deputies were dispatched to a residential burglary in progress. When the first deputy arrived, he saw a male suspect run towards the neighbor\u2019s house, so he pulled into the driveway and activated his lights. He also spotted a female suspect and detained her. The deputy saw the male suspect walking towards him and ordered him to the ground. The suspect complied and was detained. Once separated, the female told deputies that she was at the house because she saw smoke and thought it was on fire. The male suspect said he was there looking for his dog. According to the victims, the suspects rammed the gate, shattered the French doors, tampered with the heat pump, and damaged the walls in search of copper tubing. The 39-year-old female was booked into jail for burglary in the second degree and obstructing. The 37-year-old male was booked for burglary as well as for malicious mischief in the second degree because he damaged the door panel of the patrol car by kicking it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 3\/23\/24, 6:41pm Deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover collision where one female passenger was trapped inside the vehicle. When they arrived, deputies saw the male driver sitting nearby on the guardrail. When deputies spoke with him, they noticed signs of impairment and the driver admitted to drinking. Fire personnel extricated his 32-year-old girlfriend from the vehicle and transported her to the hospital with serious injuries. According to witnesses, the vehicle was driving at a high rate of speed and was passing other cars prior to the collision. The 26-year-old driver was transported to the hospital for a blood draw before being booked into jail for vehicular assault.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 3\/24\/24, 11:29am A deputy was dispatched to an attempted armed robbery at a salon. When she arrived, the business owner showed her surveillance video of the incident. The video shows a truck, with its plates covered, pull up to the business. Three suspects got out and were wearing masks and gloves. Two of the suspects appeared to have guns. They tried to open the door to the business, but it was locked, so they turned around, went back to the truck, and left. The business owner thinks he was targeted because the business offers wire transfers to Mexico, which means there is cash on hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 3\/24\/24, 5:16pm Deputies were dispatched to an armed robbery that occurred at a roadside fruit stand. When they arrived, the 30-year-old female victim explained that she had been robbed while selling strawberries on the side of the road. She said a man pulled up in a Ford Explorer and approached her. He asked her how much the strawberries were and then pointed a gun at her. He demanded the victim\u2019s cash and she handed it over. The suspect then fled northbound in his vehicle, and the victim used her phone to record the suspect\u2019s vehicle. The deputy notified law enforcement officers in the area and a Tacoma PD officer recognized the suspect. Tacoma officers located him a short time later and arrested him. He eventually admitted to the robbery and claimed he used a BB gun. A deputy searched his vehicle and found a real gun under the driver\u2019s seat. The 31-year-old suspect (a convicted felon) was booked into jail for robbery in the first degree and unlawful possession of a firearm in the first degree.
