We are all frustrated with juvenile crimes, but it’s even more frustrating when an adult is encouraging them. The driver of this stolen vehicle was 21-years-old and had a 12, 13, and 16-year-old with him. On October 6th, around 10:15pm, a Pierce County sergeant located a stolen vehicle that the Puyallup Police were also looking for. An attempted traffic stop led Pierce County and Puyallup Police on a dangerous pursuit. It was later learned there were three passengers in the vehicle, aged 12, 13, and 16-years-old. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Sergeant attempted a PIT maneuver, but the road was too narrow and he slid into a ditch. The sergeant was ok, but the suspect vehicle had fled again. This time, a Puyallup Officer picked it up. The vehicle finally stops after getting stuck in a ditch, and the driver and three passengers take off on foot. A short foot pursuit with the driver occurred before he was taken into custody. Puyallup officers and Pierce County deputies also located and arrested the other three who had fled from the vehicle. There was a 12-year-old female, a 14-year-old male, and a 16-year-old female, all of whom appeared to be intoxicated and under the influence of a substance. The stolen vehicle had significant ignition damage and containers of alcohol throughout the car. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 21-year-old driver was booked into the Pierce County Jail for possession of stolen property, bribery, since he tried to offer the Puyallup officer money to let him go, DUI, eluding, and reckless endangerment for the juveniles. The three juveniles were all booked into the Remann Hall Juvenile Detention Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are fortunate that none of the juveniles or bystanders were hurt by this driver’s reckless choices. We also want to thank the Puyallup Police Department for their collaboration and great work and all the deputies who put a stop to this dangerous activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
