{"id":2931,"date":"2025-11-13T16:13:55","date_gmt":"2025-11-13T16:13:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.piercecountywa.gov\/pcsdblotter\/?p=2931"},"modified":"2025-11-13T16:13:56","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T16:13:56","slug":"crimes-against-children-arrests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.piercecountywa.gov\/pcsdblotter\/2025\/11\/13\/crimes-against-children-arrests\/","title":{"rendered":"Crimes Against Children Arrests"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>At the beginning of 2025, the Pierce County Sheriff\u2019s Office rejoined the Washington State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC). The unit became operational in March and a dedicated team of detectives began working these difficult cases. Apprehending these offenders is vital to protecting the children of Pierce County. The ICAC detectives, with the assistance of the PCSO Special Assault Unit and our patrol deputies have made 21 arrests so far this year. These cases have led to the discovery of additional unreported crimes, including sexual assaults of children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arrests made through ICAC investigations have led to the following criminal charges:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Possession of depictions of minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dealing of depictions of minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sexual Exploitation of a minor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rape of a child in the first degree<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rape of a child in the second degree<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rape of a child in the third degree<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Child molestation in the first degree<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attempted Rape of a child in the second degree<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attempted Rape of a child in the third degree<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attempting to elude police vehicle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Resisting arrest<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communication with a minor for immoral purposes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Voyeurism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promoting commercial sexual abuse of a minor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attempted human trafficking in the second degree<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Human trafficking in the first degree<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a video showing some of the work that our ICAC unit has been doing so far in 2025.
