What happens when your suspect flees from arrest? You call for backup. Thank you, Tacoma Police Officers, for your quick response and action. On January 28th, around 7:00am, deputies responded to a domestic violence incident where the victim reported the male suspect had fled in a vehicle. There was probable cause for felony harassment and assault after the suspect told the victim he would return and kill her. A deputy spots the vehicle traveling at the 4300 block of McKinley Ave. and attempts a traffic stop. The suspect flees and gets pinned against a curb by the deputy\u2019s vehicle, and then flees a second time. After the suspect fled a second time, a Tacoma Officer quickly helped out by trapping the vehicle in for us. The suspect refused to come out of his vehicle and was extracted and taken into custody with no further issues. The suspect was found in possession of narcotics, which were taken for evidence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 42-year-old suspect was booked into the Pierce County Jail for assault 4th degree, eluding, possession of a controlled substance, felony harassment, and resisting arrest. Great work to these deputies and TPD for capturing this suspect and preventing something that could have been a lot worse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
