#1 SWAT Standoff<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On June 27th around 9:30 pm, deputies responded to the 500 block of 159th St. E in Parkland for a domestic violence call where the victim reported her husband had beaten her and tried to prevent her from calling 911 by breaking her phone. When deputies arrived, the victim had visible marks on her. The suspect refused to come out of the house, and SWAT was called. An eight-hour-long standoff led to the deployment of pepper spray chemical agents into the home and breaking a back door to get to the suspect. The SWAT Team entered through the back and finally took the 47-year-old male suspect into custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
#2 Donuts in Parking Lot Arrest<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On June 26th around 1:15 am, a graveyard deputy was on patrol driving southbound at 176th and Pacific Ave S when he observed a BMW doing donuts and burnouts in the Dairy Queen parking lot. When he pulled into the lot, he observed three subjects standing in the parking lot filming. They quickly jumped into the vehicle before it took off through the parking lot at a high rate of speed. The deputy self-terminated due to the recklessness and knowing there were at least four people in the vehicle. A short time later, the vehicle was spotted down a dead-end road. The 18-year-old driver was arrested. The vehicle was occupied by four other juveniles, two 16-year-olds and two 14-year-olds, who were all released to guardians. The driver was arrested for eluding, reckless driving, and four counts of reckless endangerment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
#3 Traffic Stop Leads to Seizure of Guns<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This last call occurred on June 26th around 11:30 am when a deputy was behind a vehicle where the driver was listed as having felony warrants. A felony traffic stop was conducted at 112th St. S and Steele St. S. The 49-year-old suspect was arrested for his felony warrants. A backpack could be seen stuffed under the driver’s seat, and the suspect was known to carry firearms from previous reports of domestic violence and felony harassment. The deputies suspected firearms may be in the vehicle, and it was taken for a search warrant. Upon conducting the warrant, a fully loaded 60-round 9mm\u00a0PMAG drum magazine, a loaded 10-round 9mm magazine, loose 9mm bullets, and a stolen\u00a0Glock 34 9mm with a modified switch, making the pistol a fully automatic machine gun capable of automatic fire with a 33-round extended magazine, were located under the driver’s seat.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
