Early Sunday morning, just after midnight, deputies were dispatched to a burglary in progress in the 16500 block of 116th St E near Bonney Lake. The 911 caller told dispatchers that two individuals and a pickup truck were currently on her property where she was building a home.<\/p>\n
Deputies were familiar with the property due to recent thefts of building supplies.
\nWhen deputies arrived, they noticed that the chain that had been blocking the access road was lying on the ground. They placed stop sticks at the access point to stop the suspects\u2019 vehicle if they fled. As the deputies walked onto the property, they saw a suspect with a headlamp standing next to a stack of plywood. The suspects spotted the deputies, jumped in their truck, and fled from the property at a high rate of speed. The truck hit the stop sticks and continued driving.<\/p>\n
A Bonney Lake officer began following the truck, which was driving at slow speeds because of flat tires. When they reached Angeline Rd E and 115th St E, the suspects bailed from the vehicle and fled on foot. A 32-year-old female and a 38-year-old male were quickly located.<\/p>\n
When deputies searched the male suspect\u2019s backpack, they found numerous shaved keys, which are used to steal cars.<\/p>\n
The male suspect was booked into jail for burglary, theft, resisting arrest, obstructing and possession of motor vehicle theft tools. He also had felony warrants for burglary, theft, unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle, reckless driving and obstructing. He has seven prior felony convictions.<\/p>\n
The female suspect was arrested for obstructing.<\/p>\n
