On Sept. 30, at 7:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to an armed carjacking in the 8700 block of 196th St Ct E in Spanaway.<\/p>\n
The 50-year-old victim told deputies that she was arriving home from picking up her take-out food order when she noticed a car behind her. She didn\u2019t think anything of it and pulled into her driveway. As she was getting out of her SUV, two suspects held her at gunpoint and demanded her keys. She didn\u2019t immediately cooperate and one of the suspects hit her in the head with his firearm. The suspects got into the victim\u2019s SUV and drove away, as did the vehicle that they arrived in.<\/p>\n
Deputies located the victim\u2019s SUV as well as the suspects\u2019 car at a nearby gas station and attempted to contact the occupants. Both vehicles fled and, since armed robbery and assault are pursuable offenses, deputies chased after them.<\/p>\n
The vehicles went in different directions, so deputies had to split up. The driver of the SUV attempted to pass traffic on the right near the intersection of 94th Ave E and 128th St E and collided with another vehicle. The driver and a passenger were apprehended.<\/p>\n
The occupants of the vehicle that the suspects originally arrived in bailed out of the vehicle in the 7400 block of 176th St E. The driver didn\u2019t put the vehicle in park and it rolled backwards into a patrol car. One of the occupants was located during a K9 track.<\/p>\n
One 16-year-old female and two 16-year-old males were arrested and booked into Remann Hall. Charges vary depending on each juvenile\u2019s role, but include: robbery in the first degree, assault in the first degree, felony eluding and resisting arrest.<\/p>\n
The mother of one of the suspects told deputies that her son had recently been arrested for a similar incident and was on house arrest.<\/p>\n
