Deputy Involved Shooting in Buckley

At 11:32pm, on July 24th, deputies responded to a domestic violence incident involving a firearm at the 7500 block of 242nd Ave Ct E in Buckley.

Deputies arrived on scene and had the female caller come out of the home.  At 11:44 pm, deputies advised the suspect had racked his rifle.

Deputies said they had probable cause to arrest the suspect for Assault in the 1st Degree and were notifying SWAT and negotiators to come out.

At 11:51 pm deputies advised the suspect was on the porch with a firearm and immediately said “shots fired.”

The suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene. No deputies were injured in the shooting.

The Pierce County Force Investigation Team responded to take over this investigation.
