Commercial Burglary
11300 blk 58th Ave E, Summit
Deputies were dispatched to a burglary alarm at a construction supply business. When they arrived, the suspects were already gone. The manager told deputies that the suspects had stolen two paint sprayers, valued at $7,000. According to surveillance video, a pickup truck backed into the business’ glass doors and then two male suspects entered the building. They loaded the paint sprayers into the bed of the pickup truck and drove away. Both suspects were wearing hoodies and gloves.

Armed Carjacking
11000 blk Pacific Ave S, Parkland
Military Police officers from JBLM notified dispatchers that they had located a man walking on a road, who said he had been carjacked in Parkland. Deputies contacted the victim, who told them he was on his way home and stopped at a fast-food drive-thru. He said that after he got his food, he was approached by two men who asked him for a lighter. He handed one of them a lighter, but when the man handed the lighter back, he started hitting the victim in the head with a gun. One of men jumped into the backseat of the victim’s Jeep and then pulled the victim into the back as well. The other suspect got into the driver’s seat and drove away. On Perimeter Road, the suspects forced the victim out of the Jeep.

Theft
11200 blk Canyon Rd E, Summit
A deputy was dispatched to a drug store for a theft that had just occurred. When the deputy arrived, the employee told him that the suspect walked behind the counter and stole a box, which contained 40 packs of cigarettes ($400 value). The employee showed the deputy a photo of the suspect. The deputy located the suspect in a nearby wooded area and the suspect ran deeper into the woods. Due to safety concerns, the deputy decided it was best to wait for backup before chasing after the suspect. Once backup arrived, deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

Stolen Vehicle, Drugs
117th St S & C St S, Parkland
A patrol deputy was driving through Parkland when a vehicle cut in front of him, causing him to hit his brakes. He ran the license plate of the vehicle and learned that it was stolen. The deputy followed the vehicle to a grocery store parking lot and conducted a high-risk stop. The driver complied with commands and was taken into custody. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located an assortment of drugs as well as a scale and packaging materials. The 45-year-old driver was booked into jail for possession of a stolen vehicle and conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance.
