After further investigation, detectives arrested the 38 year old man for the murder of the female victim. The suspect was booked into the Pierce County Jail for Murder in the 2nd Degree and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

At 01:13 a.m. on Thursday March 24th our dispatchers received an emergency call saying a woman had been shot in a neighborhood near South Tapps Dr E in Lake Tapps. The caller indicated the shooting was an accident. Deputies arrived on scene and helped provide medical aid until paramedics could transport her to the hospital.
Shortly after the woman arrived at the hospital she was pronounced deceased.
Detectives and forensic investigators were called out to the scene to investigate. At the time of the shooting, the 33 year old victim was outside in the cul-de-sac with a 38 year old man and a 37 year old woman. Both of those people will be interviewed to confirm the details of the shooting. Right now it is being investigated as a suspicious death. We will have an update later on in the day.
