Collision, DUI arrest
4800 blk W Maple Ln Cir NW, Gig Harbor
Deputies were dispatched to a collision where a vehicle had crashed into a house. When they arrived, deputies discovered that a pickup truck had traveled about 30 yards off the road, including down a steep embankment, and collided with a house. The driver, who was clearly intoxicated, told deputies he wasn’t driving; however, they found the truck’s key fob in his pocket. The 43-year-old driver was arrested for DUI. Since he was in a collision, he had to be taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Charges will be forwarded to the prosecutor for review.

Drive-by Shooting
900 blk 75th St Ct E, Tacoma
Deputies were dispatched to a report of shots fired at an apartment complex. When deputies arrived, the victim told them a bullet had come through her apartment wall, nearly striking her son who was playing video games. Nobody in the apartment building was injured. Deputies searched the area outside for a shell casing, but they couldn’t find one. There is no suspect information at this time.

Reckless Burning
5500 blk 201st St Ct E, Spanaway
Deputies were dispatched to a brush fire that was suspected to be arson. When deputies arrived, the suspect told him that he was trying to get rid of some trash and the fire got out of control. The fire had been started in close proximity to trees, cars and a residence. By the time fire personnel were able to extinguish the fire, it had already burned down a shed. Two vehicles were also damaged by the fire. The suspect was issued a criminal citation for reckless burning in the first degree, which is a Class C felony.

Aggravated Assault
12000 blk 129th St E, South Hill
Deputies were dispatched to an assault with a weapon. When deputies arrived, they found a 12-year-old victim with a head wound. He and another juvenile had been playing at a nearby park when they got into an argument with a 13-year-old male. They said the 13 year old hit the victim in the head with a large metal object. Deputies contacted the suspect’s parents and located the weapon – a 3-foot-long metal bar. The 13-year-old suspect was arrested and booked into Remann Hall for assault in the second degree. The victim received medical treatment for his injuries.

Aggravated Assault, Theft
11200 blk Canyon Rd E, Summit
A deputy was dispatched to Good Samaritan hospital in regards to a 76-year-old woman who had been assaulted. She told the deputy that she had been shopping at a drug store, and while she was loading up her car, her purse disappeared. She said she saw a woman in the parking stall next to her and asked her if she saw her purse. The woman grabbed the victim and slammed her down on the ground. The victim hit her face on the concrete and injured her hand. Deputies searched for video surveillance of the incident, but were unable to locate any.
