On Monday morning, patrol deputies assisted animal control officers with serving a search warrant at a property in Graham, near Graham-Kapowsin High School. The warrant stems from an animal cruelty investigation that was launched following a complaint regarding the treatment of horses on the property.
Animal control officers seized 27 horses and transported them to another pasture. This was a big undertaking and was made possible by assistance from ‘Save A Forgotten Equine’ (SAFE) and the Seattle Mounted Police Unit.
The investigation, which is ongoing, will include a thorough evaluation by a veterinarian.
