Commercial Burglary
11100 blk Pacific Ave S, Parkland
Deputies were dispatched to a commercial burglary that occurred overnight at a tavern. When they arrived, they saw that the tavern’s back door had clearly been forced open. The manager told them that when she arrived for work, she entered through the front door and thought it was strange that the alarm didn’t sound. That’s when she noticed that a burglary had occurred. The suspect(s) stole $200 from the register and damaged an ATM. Since the ATM is owned by another party, it is unknown at this time if cash was stolen. It appears that the business’ security system had been tampered with. Deputies are working with the manager to obtain surveillance video.

15400 blk Pioneer Way E, Orting
A Foothills Detachment deputy was dispatched to a burglary that occurred at a campground for military veterans. When the deputy arrived, the camp host told him that a shed was broken into overnight and a hydraulic log splitter was stolen. There is no known surveillance video of the burglary.

Shoplift
14200 blk Meridian E, South Hill
A beauty supply store employee called the dispatch center to report a shoplift. She said that a male suspect entered the store with a black plastic bag. He loaded 14 hair straighteners into the bag and fled the store. The total loss is $2,100. Deputies will work to obtain surveillance video from the business.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery, Arrest
10400 blk Pacific Ave S, Parkland
A patrol deputy stopped a Honda Civic because it did not have license plates. The driver did not have a license and did not have a registration for the vehicle. He handed the deputy a title, but the vehicle identification number (VIN) on the title didn’t match the placard on the car. When the deputy conducted a records check on the car’s VIN, he discovered that it had been reported stolen in Seattle. The 34-year-old driver was arrested and booked into jail for possession of a stolen vehicle.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery, Arrest
15900 blk Pacific Ave S, Parkland-Spanaway
A patrol deputy stopped a vehicle because it did not have license plates. When the deputy contacted the driver and informed him of the reason for the stop, the driver pointed out a highly obscured license plate in the back window. When the deputy conducted a records check on the license plate, he discovered that the car had been reported stolen in Lakewood. The driver claimed that he traded fentanyl pills for the vehicle. The suspect was arrested and, in his bag, deputies located car-theft tools and a realistic-looking BB gun. The 18-year-old suspect was booked into jail for possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of vehicle theft tools.
