Shooting At Gonyea Park

At 02:05 am, on Wednesday June 26th, deputies responded to a shooting, where a victim showed up to the Good Samaritan Emergency Room at 14815 Pacific Ave with a gunshot wound. Earlier that night at 1:50 am,  deputies also had an anonymous caller say they were running after being shot at near Gonyea Park. That caller was uncooperative and didn’t give much information.

Deputies interviewed the 31-year-old male victim at the hospital and learned there was a group of juveniles hanging out near the park and had an altercation in the street. The victims’ were not involved in the altercation. They heard gun shots and then their vehicle was struck. The male victim had a non-life-threatening injury from being struck by a bullet, the 28-year-old female driver had minor cuts from the broken glass when their window broke.

Detectives responded and interviewed the victims and some witnesses. No suspects are in custody at this time.
