At 9:56 pm on Wednesday June 26, our deputies responded to a 911 call of people heard screaming and then several shots being fired at a home in Gig Harbor. The caller stated the mother had shot the stepfather and another caller advised the woman was running down the road.
Deputies arrived on scene and detained the woman and went to the residence to check on her partner. The 39-year-old male was found deceased inside the residence. The woman’s 11-year-old daughter and two other young relatives were also at the home at the time of the shooting.
Detectives and forensic investigators were called out to the scene to investigate and interview the suspect. Detectives learned that both the suspect and victim were using drugs prior to the shooting. It is believed the 34-year-old woman shot her boyfriend and then fired more shots as she ran from the home.
The woman was arrested and booked into the Pierce County Jail for Murder in the 2nd Degree.
