At 3:27 pm, on July 5th our deputies responded to conduct a welfare check at a residence in Rhododendron Park. The caller stated their father sent text messages saying he killed their mother.
When deputies went inside the residence they found the 53-year-old woman was deceased. Detectives and forensic investigators were called to the scene.
Deputies immediately issued a BOLO for the suspect and his vehicle statewide.
At 6:36 pm, Auburn PD advised they had detained the suspect with his vehicle at the Chevron Gas Station at 2802 Auburn Wy S.
Detectives and forensic investigators served a warrant at the home and will also be serving a warrant on the suspect’s vehicle.
The 53-year-old suspect was booked into the Pierce County Jail for Murder in the 1st Degree.
