On August 12th at 7:07am, citizens were calling in about a drive-by shooting that just occurred around the 6400 block of 80th St. E. A silver sedan had been seen leaving the area. Deputies located the vehicle, the suspects refuse to comply, and a pursuit began.
During the pursuit, the suspect hit a civilian car, causing minor injuries but was shortly ended with a PIT. Why did deputies continue to pursue? These suspects were extremely dangerous and reckless with their drive-by-shooting and likely would kill or hurt someone if not stopped.
The suspect vehicle was later impounded for a search warrant since a firearm could be seen. A male and female were both taken into custody. Two firearms had been tossed from the vehicle and a third was located in the vehicle, pending the search warrant.
This was a very dangerous call our deputies responded to. We are thankful no citizens were severely hurt with the reckless behavior of these convicted felons.
The male suspect will be facing charges for vehicular assault, drive-by-shooting, felony eluding, unlawful possession of a firearm 1st degree and possession of a stolen firearm.
The female suspect will be facing charges for unlawful possession of a firearm, obstruction and drive-by-shooting.
This investigation will be concluded as soon as the deputies finish up the vehicle search warrant. Great job to these Pierce County deputies who used their skills and resources to take two more dangerous offenders off the streets.
