Recently, we’ve shown you some pretty cool videos with pursuits, K9 tracks, and arrests. But we really do so much more that goes unseen. We thought we would share the more compassionate side of one of our deputies who was on a traffic stop when he was flagged down by a subject asking for Narcan. This deputy acts fast and uses his Narcan to save the life of a subject that overdosed in his car.
The deputy provided two doses of Narcan but for several minutes, the subject is unresponsive with a fading pulse. After about 15 minutes, the subject becomes conscious.
In the end, the subject refused to go to the hospital even though it was recommended after experiencing a near-death overdose. These events happen too often. Please, if you or a loved one struggles with an addiction, seek help so this doesn’t happen. Great job to this deputy who showed compassion and saved this guys life.
