Deputies Arrest Suspect Wanted For Manslaughter

At 3:27 pm, on Tuesday August 27th, a deputy was patrolling near the Safeway at Canyon Rd E and 176th St E when he noticed a vehicle associated with a suspect wanted for Manslaughter.

The original incident occurred on May 21, 2022 where a 21-year-old man was shot and killed at the Nantucket Gate Apartments in Parkland.

The deputy called for additional units and then performed a traffic stop. The vehicle yielded and deputies initiated a felony stop calling the occupants out one by one. The 20-year-old suspect was the front passenger and was taken into custody without further escalation.

A passenger in the rear seat of the vehicle was a convicted felon. Deputies looked inside the vehicle and saw magazines for 9mm handguns in the front and rear passenger seats. The main suspect was booked for his Manslaughter Warrant and the rear seat passenger was booked for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Deputies will perform a search warrant to retrieve the magazines as well as search for any possible firearms.

ORIGINAL INCIDENT

At 11:55pm, on 05-21-2022, Deputies responded to a call of a shooting at the Nantucket Gate Apartments at 11308 10th Ave Ct E. Deputies were advised that the victim had been shot was transported in a vehicle to the hospital.

Detectives were called to investigate. The victim arrived at the hospital with 3 other men. The 21 year old victim was treated and then transported from Saint Claire Hospital to Tacoma General for trauma. Unfortunately the victim died from his injuries. 

Detectives and forensic investigators were called to the scene to speak to the 3 men and to check the apartment complex for evidence and witnesses.

The investigation is ongoing.
