Deputies Respond to Shooting in Puyallup. Suspect Captured in Auburn

At 12:20 am on Tuesday October 22nd, our deputies responded to a call of a shooting at 176th and 93rd Ave E in Puyallup. Deputies arrived on scene and found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his arm. Deputies checked for the suspect and applied a tourniquet to the man’s arm while awaiting for paramedics to arrive.

Deputies learned the suspect was looking for his ex-girlfriend and rang the doorbell multiple times. When the victim answered the suspect pulled a gun. The victim closed the door and the suspect shot through the door several times. The suspect then shot at the upstairs window at the house before fleeing in his vehicle.

The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The shooting was captured on camera and deputies located several shell casings in the driveway. Deputies immediately put out a BOLO to other agencies letting them know there was probable cause to arrest the suspect for the shooting.

At 2:27 am Auburn Police were able to locate and the suspect who attempted to elude them in his vehicle. Auburn was able to detain the suspect and held him for our deputies at Peasley Canyon and West Valley Highway. Deputies took custody of the 20-year-old suspect and booked him into the Pierce County Jail for Attempted Murder in the 1st Degree and Assault in the 1st Degree.
