You may all remember the 16-year-old teen who stabbed and killed his mother’s boyfriend last month on April 30th. This was a challenging homicide to process and investigate since the suspect was a juvenile. Due to the Washington State juvenile laws put in place in 2021, detectives were not able to legally interview or talk with the young man to determine his side of the story.
Due to this, the 16-year-old male was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center, Remann Hall, until detectives could get the young man’s statement from his defense attorney on his side of the story.
The young man was released from Remann Hall on May 13th to home monitoring until the case could finally be closed.
Today, the young man’s case was dismissed, and it was determined his case was a justifiable homicide. We are thankful this case can finally be closed, and this young man can move forward with love and support from his family and community.
