Woman Doused in Gasoline

A large portion of our call volume are domestic violence calls, many of which become dangerous for the victims and deputies responding. This victim had a traumatic incident happen when her boyfriend doused her in gasoline and pointed a gun at her on May 26th around 6:30pm.

The victim was living in a camp near the 19600 block of Canyon Rd. E but deputies had to hike a long ways into the woods to locate the victim. Once deputies found the victim, they knew they had to locate the boyfriend since he was armed and dangerous. K9 Clark and his handler were called to the scene to begin the search for the suspect. The K9 track continued over 30 minutes through thick woods and rough terrain.

A large bush had Clark’s attention, and he surprised his handler when he located the sawed-off shotgun the victim reported her boyfriend pointed at her. Further into the track, K9 Clark hit again on a small body of water and located the 53-year-old male suspect. He was later booked into the Pierce County Jail for assault 1st degree, felony harassment and unlawful possession of a firearm.

If you or a loved one is involved in a domestic violent relationship, please seek help since many of these calls turn violent. Nice job to all the deputies involved, and good boy, K9 Clark.
