Deputy Track Star

On June 3rd around 1pm, a traffic deputy noticed a vehicle recklessly driving at a high rate of speed, making erratic lane changes, blowing through stop signs, and not maintaining his lane. A short pursuit ended with a PIT maneuver and foot bail with an arrest.  When the deputy asked the suspect why he didn’t stop for the traffic stop, the male admitted he was hoping the deputy would give up the chase. The male also admitted he knew he wasn’t going to win the foot pursuit because our deputy was too fast.  The vehicle was taken for a warrant since drug paraphernalia could be seen inside the car in plain view. The 38-year-old male was booked into the Pierce County Jail for eluding, DUI, driving with a suspended license, and obstruction.

The moral of this story… don’t run since we have way too many track stars on our team. Great job Deputy Stutes for your awesome police work and keeping our streets safe.
