This Over the Weekend Report turned out to be a Mid-Week Report, but better late than never!
#1 Burglary of Property in Eatonville
On June 21st around 1:45am, our Mountain Detachment deputies responded to the Alder Cutoff Rd and Springwater Rd E in Eatonville for a report of subjects who cut through a gate and drove onto a private piece of property. The reporting party said they were still on the property. When deputies searched the property, a truck could be seen driving around. After deputies detained both the driver and passenger, they learned the two male suspects were stealing scrap metal and items off the property. Both the 56-year-old and 55-year-old males were arrested for burglary, and a firearm was found in the suspect’s vehicle.
#2 Vehicular Assault in Gig Harbor
On June 22nd around 10:30am, deputies responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and bicyclist on Drummond Dr. NW and Moller Dr NW in Gig Harbor. When deputies arrived, they learned from witnesses the female at fault driver was driving recklessly around the bicyclists prior to the collision. The female thought she would quickly overtake the bicyclists on the left to quickly make her right-hand turn but instead she turned into one of the riders. The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 54-year-old female driver was arrested for vehicular assault.
#3 Ketron Island Homicide Update
We had the Ketron Island Homicide on Sunday night and were recently informed by our Marine Services and Dive Units that the male suspect that drove off the Ketron Island Ferry dock after murdering his girlfriend was in fact located deceased inside the vehicle about 100 feet underwater off the ferry launch. The 30-year-old male suspect was recovered and turned over to the medical examiner’s office.
With the nice weather, there are more bicyclists on the road, so please share the road and pass with caution as we all enjoy these beautiful days ahead. Have a great rest of your week.
