#1 Attempted Kidnapping Arrest
On November 13th, around 6:00am, a significant arrest was made when our detectives from our Internet Crimes Against Children unit arrested a man and a woman for plotting to kidnap a child and use them in child sex trafficking crimes. The 28-year-old female was arrested at the 12000 block of Steele Street South, while the 28-year-old male was arrested at the 8800 block of Wilkensen Road Southeast in Yelm. Once the two suspects were in custody, a search warrant was served on their home in Yelm. Evidence supporting the planning and plotting of kidnapping a child was found, and both the male and female were booked into the Pierce County Jail. Both suspects are facing charges of attempted kidnapping in the first degree, attempted child molestation in the first degree, and nine counts of possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct in the first degree.
#2 Package Theft is Up!
On a less serious subject, but a nuisance to our community, we have a significant number of package thieves out there this time of year. This one occurred on November 14th in Gig Harbor. Feel free to call us if you know who this is. Package thieves can ruin the holiday spirit, so be sure to have a plan for your deliveries or a lockbox that they can be placed in. The Grinch has his helpers out early this year, and package theft is up.
