Deputy Involved Shooting with Stabbing Suspect

On January 25th at 6:24am, a 54-year-old male victim called 911 and reported he was stabbed near the S S Quickstop Grocery in Parkland by an unknown male who fled southbound on Park Ave. S. When deputies arrived, the victim was in serious condition and told deputies the unknown man had come up to him and asked what religion he was. The victim answered the man and said something about being a Christian, and the man then attacked and stabbed the victim and his dog. The victim was able to provide a description of the male suspect prior to being transported to a local hospital. The victim’s dog was also in serious condition. The dog was transported to a local animal hospital and was taken into surgery immediately.

Deputies used K9 to search the area for over two hours and were unable to locate the suspect. At 8:40am, while conducting an area check, a deputy spotted the suspect at the 800 block of 112th St. S, and the suspect fled behind a nearby home. Deputies followed the suspect and reported shots had been fired at 8:47am.  The suspect was taken to a local hospital and his condition is unknown at this time.

This is an active scene, and the investigation has been turned over to the Pierce County Force Investigation Team.
