JUVENILE STABBED DURING FIGHT IN SPANAWAY
At 9:03 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a stabbing in the wooded area between A St and Pacific Ave S in Spanaway. When deputies arrived, they contacted the stabbing victim and two other juveniles in the small, wooded lot. Deputies provided first aid to the 15-year-old victim before he was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Another deputy checked the area for the suspect and located him near the 16600 block of Pacific Ave S. The deputy saw him banging on the Burger King doors trying to get inside. The deputy turned on his overhead lights and told the suspect to stop. The suspect walked behind a business and started taking off his sweatshirt, but was quickly detained. During a pat down, the deputy located a bloody knife in the suspect’s sweatshirt. The 15-year-old suspect was known to the victim and was positively identified by witnesses. He was arrested and booked into Remann Hall for assault in the first degree.
VEHICLE THEFT VICTIM DETAINS JUVENILE SUSPECT
At 10:50 p.m., deputies were dispatched to an interrupted motor vehicle theft in the 9900 block of 134th St E in South Hill. The 911 caller reported that the car’s owner found juveniles inside of his vehicle trying to steal it and he was holding one of them down.
When deputies arrived, they saw one of the suspects walking away. He was detained and was carrying a black bag containing broken alcohol bottles.
Deputies detained another juvenile who attempted to walk away, as well as the third juvenile who was being held down by the vehicle’s owner.
The victims said they were walking to their car when they noticed their window was broken. They saw two juveniles inside the vehicle and two standing outside. They hit the key fob to scare the kids out of the car. The 28-year-old owner held down one of the juveniles to keep him from escaping while his girlfriend called 911. The other three juveniles returned and tried to pull the owner off their friend. One juvenile threatened to hit the man with a rock.
In addition to the broken window, the dashboard was heavily damaged.
The owner/victim was uninjured.
The suspects, ages 14 and 15, were booked into Remann Hall for attempted motor vehicle theft and assault in the fourth degree.
We were unable to locate the fourth juvenile, and due to state law regarding interviewing juveniles, we were unable to ask the other suspects about his identity.
