DUI Collision, Arrest
112th St E & Waller Rd E, Summit
Two patrol vehicles were stopped (one behind the other) in an eastbound lane of 112th St E at Waller Rd E. When the light turned green, the first patrol car went through the intersection. Out of the corner of his eye, the deputy saw a vehicle approaching the intersection from his left side (southbound Waller) at a high rate of speed, and it appeared the vehicle was not going to stop. The deputy hurried through the intersection and narrowly avoided being hit by the car. A vehicle traveling westbound through the intersection was struck and both vehicles then collided with the second patrol vehicle. When the 31-year-old at-fault driver got out of his vehicle, deputies immediately noticed signs of impairment, so they arrested him. He was transported to the hospital for a blood draw being before booked into jail. Nobody was injured in the collision.
