PIERCE COUNTY FIREWORKS RESTRICTED TO JULY 4, 10AM – 11:59PM

Ok, itโ€™s time to talk about one of the most controversial topics of the year: FIREWORKS! Love โ€˜em or hate โ€˜em, theyโ€™re coming!

A new Pierce County ordinance limits fireworks discharge to:

๐ŸŽ† July 4, 10:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. ๐ŸŽ†

This applies to all areas of Unincorporated Pierce County. If you live within city limits, you can find those restrictions here: https://bit.ly/447cniO

Please keep in mind that fireworks can only be discharged on PRIVATE property with permission from the property owner. Fireworks CANNOT be discharged at county parks.

These fireworks are LEGAL to possess between June 28th and July 5th:

โœ… Multi-Aerials

โœ… Smoke

โœ… Ground Spinners

โœ… Helicopter Parachutes

โœ… Sparklers/Morning Glory

โœ… Wheels

โœ… Reloadable Mortars (1 3/4″ or less)

โœ… Cones & Fountains

โœ… Roman Candles

These fireworks are ILLEGAL to possess outside of Tribal Lands:

โŒ Firecrackers

โŒ Bottle Rockets

โŒ Missiles & Rockets

These explosive devices are ILLEGAL to possess ANYWHERE:

โŒ M-80’s or Larger

โŒ Cherry Bombs

โŒ Tennis Ball Bombs

โŒ Pipe Bombs

โŒ Special, tampered, altered, or home-made fireworks

In an effort to free up 911 call-takers, residents who have a fireworks complaint are urged to use South Sound 911โ€™s online reporting tool: https://bit.ly/4446p1Q

The complaints will be pushed out to deputies/officers on patrol.

If someone is injured or there is a fire caused by fireworks, please call 911.
