Commercial Burglary
5100 blk 192nd St E, Frederickson

A deputy was dispatched to a commercial burglary at a construction equipment dealer that sells cranes. When he arrived, the manager told him that he received a security notification with video of a man walking around inside the fenced area. The manger drove to the business, but the suspect was gone. He discovered that approximately $10,000 worth of copper wire had been stolen. Due to the low quality of the surveillance video, the deputy was unable to develop a suspect description.

Attempted Residential Burglary & Vehicle Theft
3200 blk 48th St Ct E, Waller

Deputies were dispatched to a vehicle theft in progress. When they arrived, the suspect was sitting in a parked vehicle in a driveway. Deputies detained the suspect and discovered that the ignition was heavily damaged. According to the victims, they heard footsteps outside their residence before spotting the suspect in their car. Deputies walked around the residence and saw a window screen sitting on the deck. The victims said it should have been in the window. The 24-year-old suspect was booked into jail for attempted residential burglary, attempted vehicle theft, and malicious mischief.

Vehicular Assault
23200 blk 114th St E, Buckley

Foothills Detachment deputies were dispatched to a collision involving an ejected passenger. As one of the deputies was approaching the scene, an unlicensed side-by-side ATV passed him going the opposite direction. When the deputy arrived at the scene and saw the ejected passenger on the ground, he believed the ATV was involved. Another deputy spotted the ATV and stopped it. The driver’s face was covered in blood. Before he was transported to the hospital, the ejected passenger confirmed that he had been thrown from the ATV. Deputies determined that the ATV had struck a parked SUV on the side of the road. The collision was so severe that the SUV moved about eight feet. Deputies believe the ATV was travelling at a high rate of speed and that the driver was impaired. The 27-year-old passenger sustained serious injuries. The 28-year-old driver was arrested for vehicular assault, failure to remain at an injury accident, and hit and run. A a blood draw was completed while he was being treated at the hospital.

Armed Robbery
17400 blk Pacific Ave S, Spanaway

Deputies were dispatched to reports of an intimidation with a weapon outside of a convenience store. When they arrived, they were flagged down by two individuals who said they had been robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot. A deputy reviewed surveillance video and identified the suspect’s vehicle. He also realized that the car was still in the parking lot. He contacted the suspect and detained him. The deputy also spotted some of the stolen property inside the vehicle and a BB gun that resembled a real pistol. Deputies also located a third victim who said he had been robbed by the suspect. When searching the suspect, deputies located meth, fentanyl, scales and cash. The 34-year-old suspect was booked into jail for three counts of robbery in the first degree, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. He also had a felony warrant for unlawful possession of a firearm.

DUI Arrest, Eluding
SR-302 & Lake Kathryn Ln NW, Wauna

A patrol deputy was parked on the side of SR-302 when he saw an SUV veer off the road and drive down into the ditch. The SUV drove back out of the ditch, ran a stop sign and then made a u-turn. The deputy initiated a traffic stop, but the SUV fled. Believing that the driver was impaired, the deputy chased after the SUV. He performed a PIT maneuver and the SUV came to a stop. The driver ignored commands to show his hands and took off running from the SUV. After a brief foot pursuit, the 26-year-old suspect laid down on the ground and gave up. He was arrested for DUI, eluding, resisting arrest, and driving with a suspended license. He was taken to the hospital for a blood draw before he was booked into jail.
