Multiple Shootings and a Stabbing on Holiday Weekend

D12 Stabbing

On December 31st at 12:07 am deputies in our Foothills Detachment responded to a stabbing at the 12900 block of 193rd Ave E. The two suspects had been in an argument with the victim before attempting to stab him. Neighbors came outside when they heard the commotion and the two suspects left in a vehicle. Deputies knew there was only one way in and out of the Tehaleh neighborhood and they located the suspect vehicle. The two suspects fled on foot and the first was caught by the deputies.

Deputies called for a K9 and drone to assist but were able to find the second suspect hiding in a garbage bin before they arrived.

The victim had lacerations but was not seriously injured. Both suspects were booked into the Pierce County Jail for Assault in the 1st Degree and Obstruction.

UP Shooting

At 01:31 am, our deputies in University Place responded to a fight at the Cheers bar at 7100 27th St W. As deputies were responding they were told shots had been fired. The incident started when the male suspect had assaulted a woman at the bar and other patrons stepped in to help the woman. The suspect dropped a gun on the ground, picked it up and pointed it at the bartender. The suspect tried to exit the back door and fired several rounds at the lock, then fled through the front doors.

No one was struck by the gunfire, deputies and forensics investigated the incident. The suspect is not in custody at this time.

Parkland Shooting

At 02:24 am our Central Patrol deputies responded to a shooting the Hudson Court Apartments at 14117 C St S in Parkland. There were multiple shots fired into an apartment and several vehicles. One woman was hit by the gunfire and had a non-life-threatening injury. There are no known suspects at this time.

Road Rage Shooting Assist

On January 1st at 6:10 pm, deputies responded to a road rage shooting at the Rite Aid at 176th St E and Gem Heights Drive. Deputies assisted fire and started to investigate the shooting when they learned it occurred on Meridian and we transferred the case to Washington State Patrol. The victim had a non-life threatening injury.

UP Shooting

At 7:08 pm, on January 1st, our University Place Deputies responded to a shooting at 5600 Hannah Pierce Rd W where multiple callers advised hearing numerus shots fired. Deputies located the victim outside of his vehicle and he was transported to the hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive. The victim appeared to be targeted by the shooters. The suspects hit 5 occupied apartments and several parked vehicles, but no one else was injured. Multiple shooters were said to have fled from the scene in a vehicle. There are no suspects in custody.
