At 11:02 pm, on Tuesday January 9th, our deputies responded to an armed robbery at the NW Cannabis Connection at 11522 Canyon Rd E in the Summit area. The caller reported they were robbed at gunpoint and a security guard fired shots at the suspects.
Deputies arrived in the area and were told the suspects abandoned their vehicle, a Toyota Yaris, behind the Safeway at 115th and Canyon Rd. Arriving deputies located two juveniles walking on 112th St E who matched the description of the suspects. Just after the first two suspects were detained Lakewood Police Officers and a police dog, “K9 Ice,” did an evidence track from the vehicle. They were led by K9 Ice to a semitrailer where they found the third suspect hiding under the trailer. They called him out and detained him without any issues. When they looked at where the suspect was hiding they saw, clothing, gloves, a mask, loose cash, a bag full of marijuana canisters, a loaded .38 revolver and a loaded AK47 rifle. The rifle was tucked under one of the semi tires within reach of the suspect.
The victims were able to identify all 3 suspects were the ones who committed the robbery. The suspect with the guns was 16-years-old, the driver was 15-years-old and the last suspect who had the revolver during the robbery was 14-years-old.
The vehicle used in the incident was reported stolen out of Seattle. No one was injured from the gunfire by the security guard.
