Detectives Look to ID Zips Shooting Suspect

UPDATE- SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

At around 7 am, on Tuesday June 11th, deputies received a tip from a 911 caller that a vehicle matching the description of the dark escalade with black rims was in a neighborhood at 200th St E/50th ave e in Spanaway.

Deputies and detectives responded and realized the suspect was in the vehicle. When the suspect left they initiated a traffic stop and took him into custody.

After an interview with detectives, they believed they had enough probable cause to arrest and book the suspect for the shooting on May 17th.

On Tuesday June 12th, Detectives served a search warrant on the vehicle and recovered a firearm.

Pierce County Sheriff’s detectives need your help to identify the suspect responsible for a shooting at Zips Cannabis at 10707 Pacific Ave S.

At 10:58 pm, on May 17th, an unknown suspect fired 3 shots at a Zips employee while he was taking a regularly scheduled break in front of the business. The 27-year-old victim was struck by the gunfire and the suspect fled in this pictured black Cadillac Escalade. The suspect is a white male with dark hair in his mid 30’s.
