Reckless Driving, Resisting Arrest
21500 blk 148th St E, Bonney Lake
Incident # 24-189-00162

Deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle collision, where a vehicle had crashed into a ditch. According to the 911 caller, the occupants removed the license plate before leaving the scene. On their way to the call, deputies contacted several individuals who matched the descriptions of the involved parties. They appeared intoxicated and claimed that someone had stolen their vehicle. When deputies challenged them about their story, the men started yelling at the deputies and appeared as though they were going to physically attack the deputies. They refused commands, which resulted in a deputy tasing one of them. After a brief struggle, a 20-year-old suspect was taken into custody. After being treated at the hospital, he was booked into jail for resisting arrest and making false statements. Charges for the driver will be referred to the prosecutor for review.

Reckless Driving, Eluding
176th St E & B St E, Spanaway
Incident # 24-189-00187

Deputies were on patrol when they spotted a vehicle travelling at speeds over 100 mph. It was also running red lights. When deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled at high speeds. The driver went into oncoming lanes, drove erratically through a parking lot, and ran more red lights and stop signs. Eventually, the driver bailed out of the vehicle and fled on foot. He fell and was taken into custody. The 29-year-old suspect was booked into jail for eluding, reckless driving and obstructing. His passenger had a DOC warrant and was arrested as well.

Armed Robbery
15000 blk Pacific Ave S, Spanaway
Incident # 24-189-00249

Deputies were dispatched to an armed robbery that had just occurred at a bank. When deputies arrived, the 46-year-old victim told them that she drove to the bank to withdraw some cash from the ATM. She said that after she withdrew $40, the suspect approached her, pointed a gun at her, and demanded the cash. The suspect then fled in a silver sedan. Deputies are working to obtain surveillance video from the bank.

Explosion
2400 blk 96th St E, Midland
Incident # 24-189-01635

Deputies were dispatched to an explosion that occurred in a residential garage. When deputies arrived, the homeowner was already being transported to the hospital. The inside of the garage was completely destroyed during the explosion, and the garage door had been blown off. According to neighbors, the homeowner was known to work with explosives in his garage and would notify them when he was going to detonate them. Our bomb squad responded to the scene and the ATF was notified.
