#1 Motorcycle Pursuit/Short Foot Pursuit
On April 20th around 6:30pm, one of our Sergeants initiated a traffic stop on a motorcycle with no back license plate at 112th St. E and Pacific Ave. for a simple traffic stop. This led to a pursuit and foot bail. The 49-year-old male was arrested and booked for Driving with a Suspended License, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Eluding and Obstruction.
#2 Pursuit with Collision
On April 21st at approximately 2:30am, a graveyard deputy noticed a vehicle driving erratically with no license plate at 96th St. E and Pacific Ave. It was also learned the vehicle had fled from Tacoma PD earlier. The deputy attempted a traffic stop, and a pursuit began. The vehicle wrecked into several unoccupied vehicles at a nearby apartment complex and had flipped onto its side. The 36-year-old male driver was taken into custody, and his 23-year-old female passenger, who was unrestrained during the pursuit, was thrown to the back of the vehicle with serious injuries. The male was booked into the Pierce County Jail for Felony Eluding and Reckless Endangerment to his passenger. This investigation is ongoing.
