You may remember from last week, one of our elite search and rescue deputies was deployed to Texas to assist with the search of the flood victims. Deputy Stewart and his fellow searchers from the Washington State Task Force sent an update that they are helping with the Kerr County, Texas, floods. Stewart reports the days are long, and he spends them in 100° humid weather that is interrupted with lightning storms and snakes. Stewart recently met Deputy Slaughter of the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office (right). Deputy Slaughter was in the epicenter of the tragic event and aided in rescue and recovery efforts for the citizens he serves. Stewart says it was an honor to meet Slaughter, and we send our hearts out to the people affected by the Texas floods.
Keep up the amazing work, Deputy Stewart, and watch out for those snakes!
