On August 5th around 8:30am, Pierce County Animal Control and deputies seized 80 cats with a warrant from an approximately 30 foot long camper trailer in Graham. Concerns came in from neighbors around the area regarding a trailer full of cats. A total of 6 female cats were nursing litters and many more female cats are expected to be pregnant. The cats range in age from 3-days-old to about 3-years-old. All cats seized are a mix of Maine Coon and domestic medium hair cats. Many of the cat, particularly the kittens, were infested with flees and have upper respiratory infections.
All cats will get a veterinarian exam and those that needed immediate medical treatment were taken to a vet on the spot. After all the medical examinations are complete, the cats will be released to the Tacoma Humane Society for adoption.
